Our commitment
Forever News Media exists to give American readers news they can trust. This Code of Ethics binds every journalist, editor and contributor who publishes on forevernewsmedia.com, without exception for seniority, speed or commercial pressure.
Truth and accuracy
We report what we can verify. Every news story is checked against at least two reputable sources before publication; single-source claims are attributed as reports and labelled as unconfirmed where appropriate. We never invent quotations, scenes, figures or sources, we never plagiarize, and we never present another outlet’s reporting as our own work. Photographs are genuine, licensed or public-domain images, credited in captions.
Fairness and independence
We seek comment from the subjects of significant reporting and represent opposing views accurately and without caricature. Journalists must disclose conflicts of interest to their editor and must not cover subjects in which they hold a personal or financial stake. Gifts, favours and hospitality that could compromise — or appear to compromise — independence are declined. Paid relationships are disclosed, and advertisers exert no influence over news judgment.
Sources and transparency
We identify sources wherever possible. Confidential sources are used only when the information is important, cannot be obtained on the record, and the source’s reliability has been assessed by a senior editor; we protect confidential sources to the fullest extent the law allows. Anonymous claims are never used to attack a person without corroboration. We explain, in plain language, how we know what we report.
Accountability
Errors are corrected promptly and visibly under our Corrections Policy; we do not silently rewrite published stories. Standards complaints are reviewed by a named editor and answered. Breaches of this Code lead to proportionate consequences, up to removal of publishing privileges. Readers are our final accountability: our Contact page is always open, and every standards message is read.
Respect
We treat the people in our stories — including the vulnerable, the grieving and the accused — with dignity. We minimize harm, presume innocence in criminal matters, avoid gratuitous detail, and take particular care with children and private individuals who find themselves in the news. Forever News Media is a member of the 24World Media network and applies this Code in full. Last updated October 2026.
Corrections, anonymity and imagery
We do not stage, manipulate or materially alter news photographs; cropping and tonal adjustment for reproduction are the outer limits of permissible editing. Illustrative images are genuine licensed or public-domain photographs, chosen to represent a story’s subject honestly and credited in captions. Anonymous sourcing requires a senior editor’s approval, a known identity, and a recorded reason the source cannot speak on the record; we revisit anonymity if a source uses it to deceive.
Diversity of voices and conflicts
A newsroom that only hears one kind of voice will only tell one kind of story. We actively seek comment, expertise and authorship across communities, regions and viewpoints, and we audit our sourcing for range. Staff must disclose personal, financial or familial interests that intersect with their assignments, and editors reassign stories where an interest could compromise — or reasonably appear to compromise — independence.
Ethical use of images and new technology
Photographs and video published by Forever News Media are genuine, licensed or verifiably public-domain material, credited in captions; we do not publish images that misrepresent the event, place or people shown, and we never pass off illustrative, archive or reconstructed imagery as live reporting without a clear label. Where a story uses file photography, the caption says so. AI-assisted tools may be used for routine production tasks such as transcription and data sorting, but no AI system reports or writes our news unsupervised: every story is reviewed, sourced and approved by a named human editor, and AI-generated imagery is never presented as documentary photography.
Enforcement and review of this Code
This Code is a condition of publishing on Forever News Media. Editors are responsible for applying it on their desks, and any journalist who becomes aware of a possible breach — including plagiarism, undisclosed conflicts, fabrication, or misuse of sources — must raise it with their editor promptly; concerns may also be raised confidentially with senior editorial leadership, and no one will face retaliation for raising a good-faith ethics concern. Substantiated breaches are addressed proportionately, from retraining and formal warnings to removal from a story or, for serious or repeated misconduct, termination of the working relationship. The public record is corrected openly in line with our Corrections policy whenever a breach has affected published material. Senior editors review this Code at least annually, and sooner where practice, technology or law materially changes, so that the standard readers are promised remains the standard applied in the newsroom.
